David Byrne's survival guide for musicians

Not exactly fresh out of the box, but my attention was directed at this today, and it was too good of a read to pass up with no mention. Talking Heads's frontman David Byrne has written a very interesting article regarding the evolutionary process taking place in the music industry, illustrating the possibilities of a DIY approach for artists to make money of their art, as opposed to older methods which rely heavily/entirely on record companies. It is an industry insiders insightful perspective on the record business, which explains the different methods of doing business, while at the same time giving examples.
